Homework Policy

  • Parents are encouraged to use the Parents Comments section on the homework coversheet to communicate any positive feedback or concerns.
  • Parents are encouraged to ensure their child attempts all questions and tasks in the homework, making notes on tasks that proved too difficult for the child to answer correctly.
  • Please remember that homework is given as a chance for the children to revise and attempt the tasks independently. Parents are advised not to help their children answer questions or complete tasks. They are however encouraged to facilitate their work by providing any existing learning material within their home or to purchase any where necessary.
  • If Homework has not been marked, this does not mean the teacher has not checked the work. In the teacher comments section there will usually be an explanation for this gap. If the time comes when the homework is not marked and there is no message left in the comment section, please feel free to speak to the teacher directly for feedback.
  • Work that is not complete which the child has successfully completed in class will be seen as laziness or carelessness from the child. This will result in the child missing morning/ afternoon playtime to complete this specific task.
  • Extra copies of homework packs are ready in class. Any child who does not bring their homework in on the Monday (unless a parent gives written explanation and brings the homework in at home time ) will be given a new copy to complete during play time for the week and this will continue until the work is complete.
  • Lost or damaged reading books and homework folders will result in a £10 fine. Parents will be given 3 days to return or replace any damaged or lost learning resources. After which they will be asked to contact the head teacher.
